Booty Bands for Better Glutes?

2019 seems to be the year of the ‘booty band’ for females when training… and hey what female doesn’t want to improve their glutes… or male for that matter! But I don’t see individuals using them just during their warm up or incorporated as an element in training… resistance bands are being used as the primary exercise in training programs, I even had the pleasure of witnessing an entire class dedicated to working out with resistance bands!


Now as you can problem vibe by now, I’m not the biggest fan of booty bands… but they do have merit when used correctly! So if booty bands are your thing or you want to start integrating them into your program, let’s have a chat about what they do and how best to utilise them for optimum results.


Booty bands create resistance though a full range of motion which ultimately stimulates your targeted muscle group ensuring they stay activated as you perform your next exercise. So as you can see, they are a tool to utilise when warming up or before you begin to work out a specific muscle group… not an independent exercise.


The only way to grow muscle is to lift heavy and increase on a weekly basis… it’s as simple as that!


But why not give them a go? And it doesn’t just have to be during a booty session… once you have a program designed for you and your goals, incorporate resistance bands into your workout to map out muscle groups so that your brain is in sync with the task at hand and make note of how it impacts your training.
